"It always pained me to see my students avoid drinking water at the school for fear of falling sick.
Now, the students no longer have to worry and are healthy.
Together with my students we have raised awareness among the villagers about the benefits of drinking clean water from the center instead of the water that comes from the borewell."
Before 2011 the people of Mangalpalli village had to struggle every day with little access to safe water.
10 years on, and over 100 families collect water from their center a day. Parents can focus on work, and children on play and learning. The locally trained operator cares for the center for the whole village. Regional technicians are on hand 24/7 to make sure the water is always clean.
Together the whole community are living healthier and longer lives - all because of one water center.
"I have been operating the Kalvalapalem center for nine years. Previously, people in my village had to buy water cans, which cost a lot of money.
Now the water is clean and we can save costs. People from neighbouring villages have even started coming to fetch water from our center now too."
